Purpose

The invention is a fogponic-based plant growing system that uses ultrasonic mist technology to supply roots with water and nutrients. By converting nutrient-enriched water into fog, the mist maker allows for optimal plant growth. The invention also includes a reservoir that collects any unused water and recycles it to conserve natural resources. Additionally, this highly intuitive system is designed to save space and accelerate the plant growing process.

The Problem

However, this system requires a considerable amount of preparation, from gathering the right equipment to setting aside ample space for plant growth.

The Solution

… But now there’s the Fog Zombie!

Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Brandon McDonald of Spring, TX has created a new fogponic-based plant growing system that uses ultrasonic mist technology to supply roots with the water and nutrients they need.

One very popular method of growing plants, flowers, and vegetables involves fogponics technology. Like hydroponic gardening, fogponics utilizes a fogger or nebulizer to provide plant roots with a consistent supply of very fine liquid nutrient solution droplets. This increases air exposure to the plant roots. It also provides a direct supply of fine, easily absorbed, nutrient solution to the roots. Plant roots also receive carbon dioxide from the air to allow for photosynthesis. Unfortunately, fogponics requires a fair amount of equipment, occupies a lot of space, and causes water droplets to evaporate, leading to not only a loss of water, but loss of important nutrients as well. Brandon just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, he was inspired to develop the Fog Zombie!

By converting nutrient-enriched water into fog, this mist maker allows for optimal plant growth. The invention also includes a reservoir that collects any unused water and recycles it to conserve natural resources. Additionally, this highly intuitive system is designed to save space and accelerate the plant growing process.
